Remembering what God has done (Psalms 65-67 and 69-70)

July 13, 2008 By Seth Leave a Comment

Psalm 66 recounts what God did for the Israelites with the Red Sea – turning it into dry land so they could cross it.  Throughout the Old Testament in various places the Israelites erected monuments to remind themselves of God's faithfulness to them and was being done in this Psalm.  There's something incredibly important about remembering your faith journey.  I've been keeping journals for the last 10 years or so, and one of my favorite things to do is to look back and see the places where God has taken me and how I have grown and changed over time.  I love seeing His faithfulness to me in various circumstances and the knowledge that He truly never leaves my side.  That doesn't mean I haven't had difficult times; it just means that God has never left me to deal with them on my own.  It's good to remember what God has done.  When is the last time you stopped to reminisce?
