The Glory of the Lord (Exodus 40)

September 15, 2011 By Seth Leave a Comment

Pillar of Fire
I often wonder what it would have been like to see the glory of the Lord settled upon the Tabernacle in the form of a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.  The Tabernacle, in its beauty and splendor, was really just a foreshadowing of the glory that the followers of Christ will experience in heaven.  As amazing of a sight as it must have been for the Israelites, it will be infinitely more amazing and glorious for us.

Recently, a song has been popularized that speaks of the glorious splendor.  Here are the lyrics to “Revelation Song”:

Worthy is the,
Lamb who was slain
Holy, Holy, is He
Sing a new song, to Him who sits on
Heaven's Mercy Seat

(Chorus)
Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing:
Praise to the King of Kings!
You are my everything,
And I will adore You…!

Clothed in rainbows, of living color
Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor, strength and
Glory and power be
To You the Only Wise King,

Filled with wonder,
Awestruck wonder
At the mention of Your Name
Jesus, Your Name is Power
Breath, and Living Water
Such a marvelous mystery
