Habakkuk is a book that we can all relate with because we've all, at one time or another, wondered about the presence of God. Where is He when life hurts? Where is He when wars are going on and injustices are taking place throughout the world? There are so many times when life just doesn't make sense, and we want to cry out, "Where are you, God?" This book teaches us, though, that God's not afraid of our honesty. We can bring our problems to Him and trust that He's going to listen to our pleas. And when we wait patiently in meditation and prayer, and when God does answer, it's our job to listen and to obey. Running away from the hard things doesn't solve anything, but God can use these circumstances to deepen our trust in and reliance on Him.
