A crazy day in Chicago

January 19, 2008 By Seth Leave a Comment

Two things were lost today and two things were found… can you guess by looking at the picture?Kayla  After dropping students off at Navy Pier, parking, and taking a taxi back (due to the bitter cold temperatures) I realized that I didn't have my wallet to pay the taxi driver.  Luckily the other adult with me, Shannon Sendak had some money on her.  After a period of panic and then prayer, we finally found my wallet back in the van where I had left it.  I've never lost my wallet before, and it is sure an uncomfortable feeling!  Then after dinner we were heading home, and we got a phone call from a student who had been left behind at Ed Debevic's!  Before you think I'm the worst youth leader in the world, let me explain that the other van driver thought all of her seats were filled.  Luckily Kayla (pictured above) only had to wait a few minutes for us to return and get her.  Ironically she was wearing the "LOST" t-shirt from our summer retreat last year.

The sessions have been great today, and Wes has really challenged us to grow closer to the Lord and to put disciplines into practice for the sake of knowing Christ more rather than just checking something off a list.  Praise the Lord that we're still all safe, that no one has lost anything, and that the Lord is teaching us some great lessons.  Tomorrow morning we head to Willow Creek to worship.  I'm excited since I've never been there… I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow.
