Leadership is scary for a number of reasons, but the most prominent reason is the accountability a leader has to the Lord. A leader answers to the Lord for how he or she leads people, and judgment is handed out by the Lord as a result of the outcome of a person's leadership. This principle is displayed by the way the Lord wipes out Jeroboam's entire family because he led people away from the Lord. Jeroboam's mistake was not only sinning himself but actually leading other people to sin! As a result of his choice, Jeroboam provoked the Lord to anger. If you desire leadership, seek it cautiously and make certain that you are willing to face the consequences that will come if you lead people away from the Lord.
