A Simple Prayer (Isaiah 31-34)

January 7, 2014 By Seth Leave a Comment

Lord, be gracious to us; we long for you.  Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress. (Isaiah 33:2)

In times of trouble, it’s natural to turn to God.  In fact, many people turn back to God when things in their lives are less than ideal.  Isaiah models a simple prayer for us to pray when we face.

Lord, be gracious to us; we long for you.
God, we ask that you might let your abundant grace be known in our situation.  Whereas things seem beyond our understanding, we trust that they aren’t beyond Your understanding.  We need You now – maybe more than ever.  Please come to our aid.

Be our strength every morning…
It takes strength and courage to get up each day, Lord.  We need You more than ever.  Please let us start our day with a recognition that You are present and that You are strengthening us with everything we need for the day.

Be… our salvation in time of distress.
If not for Your help, Lord, it seems that there is no way out from this present predicament.  Provide a way.  As our Savior, rescue us, we pray.  And in the end, may You receive all glory.
