A steadfast love (Hosea 5-8)

January 4, 2008 By Seth Leave a Comment

The type of love that the Lord desires from His people is a steadfast love, meaning it carries with it loyalty.  A true follower of God is not fickle in his or her worship but seeks to honor the Lord in everything.  Sadly this type of love was not characteristic of Israel and Judah.  Their love was like a morning cloud or the dew: an object not lasting for any length of time.  Any commitment to the Lord by Israel was quickly forgotten; their devotion to Him did not run deep.  Unfortunately that type of love is opposite of what the Lord desires.  Steadfast love is what pleases Him, and that is the love that He desires of us.
