One of the biggest challenges I've faced is that of abiding in God. Isn't funny how easy it is to abide in other things? When you're at work, it's not hard to abide in your work and to focus on it and to allow it to consume you. When you're at home, it's not hard to abide in the house or your family or the kids and to allow them to consume your mind and your thoughts. Why is it that it's so hard to abide in God? Just when I think I have it mastered, my mind floats to something else, and I realize that I haven't been abiding in Him very well. John tells us is 1 John 2 that we should abide in our knowledge of the truth and in that we will be abiding in the Father. I think the things we abide in say a lot about us. What do you abide in? Where do your thoughts wander when they're unfocused?
