Always Good

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.  –James 1:17

Perhaps it’s because I’ve been hurt so many times that I question the motives of others.  I certainly don’t want to be a cynic, but there are moments when it’s hard not to be cynical.  When moments of pain come, it can be easy to point a finger at God and to accuse Him of not having our best in mind.  The truth is, though, that He only gives us good things.  In fact, anything good you have ever received originated with God.  And what’s more?  He never changes.  There is no variation in God unlike the many people that we deal with in our lives.  Take a moment to think about God’s generosity to you, and find yourself grateful today for the good gifts that God has lavished on your life.
