An incredible journey (Ruth)

October 18, 2007 By Seth Leave a Comment

Have you taken time to think about the journey that the Lord is taking you on?  Reading through His Narrative has really made me think a lot about that.  I believe God takes people on journeys, and there is an incredible picture of a journey found in the book of Ruth.  Larry Crabb has a really fantastic book called Shattered Dreams.  In the book, Crabb talks about Naomi and how her life came crashing down before her with the deaths of her husband and her two sons.  But God was working in the midst of the tragedy and hardship, and He was taking Naomi on a journey.  Is it possible that God takes us on journeys for the sake of molding us into the individuals He wants us to be?  I think it is.  Naomi changed her name to bitter at the height of her sorrows, but by the end she found joy.  What journey is God taking you on right now?  Are you being diligent to learn the lessons along the way?
