I am reminded of the old Beatles tune, Can't Buy Me Love. The lyrics are strikingly similar ("Can't buy me love, everybody tells me so/Can't buy me love, no no no, no") to Solomon's words about a man offering wealth for love and then being despised. Love is one of the few things in the world that can't be purchased… especially in romance. I appreciate Solomon's thoughts about the origin of love: God. True love finds it's source in God for God is love. And since God is love, love cannot come from anywhere else. Wherever you find true love then you also find glimpses of our Heavenly Father.
