Do not fear (Lamentations 1-3)

February 1, 2008 By Seth Leave a Comment

The author of Lamentations (presumably Jeremiah) pleaded with God for help and received this response: "do not fear."  That's good advice that we should all consider.  In reality, when we recognize who God is and put Him in the proper place in our lives, then there isn't anything to fear.  That's why Jesus said to seek first the Kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33) – then all of the other concerns would fall into place.  It's not worth worrying about stuff because God promised that He will take care of His children.  The key concept with that promise is that you have to be in a relationship with Him.  And if you are in a relationship with the Lord, then what concerns could possibly arise that He isn't capable of handling?  There is no reason to fear because we have a great God!
