Seven years ago today I was
riding on the DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) in Ireland, sad that I was not going to get to enjoy the annual Saint Patrick's Day parade in Dublin because of the dreaded Foot and Mouth Disease. The government was concerned that such a large public gathering could be catastrophic to the economic livelihood of the country. So my friends and I traveled to the city anyway and lamented the fact that the one time we were in Ireland we
missed the big celebration. My three and a half month visit to Ireland was incredible, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity I had to go there. The reality is that we have the Irish to thank for a lot.
Saint Patrick brought Christianity to a very pagan country; he was a missionary. Many of the copies of Scripture that we have available to us come directly from the monks in Ireland who beautifully illustrated God's Word. In honor of how the Lord used this man to help spread Christianity to the western world, I'd like to share some photos of my trip. I took all of these pictures at various monasteries we visited in Ireland. Enjoy!
