Holy (Psalms 57, 95, and 97-99)

July 18, 2008 By Seth Leave a Comment

The world "holy" in the Bile is really defined as "set apart."  Something that is holy is entirely different than everything else.  We should consider, then, the depth of what the psalmists were saying when they referred to God as "holy."  God is different than us; He is set apart from us.  He doesn't think like we think; He doesn't reason like we reason; He doesn't sin like we sin.  God is different; that's what makes Him God – that's why we're called to worship Him rather than worshiping ourselves.
