I have had some interesting discussions with people in the last several weeks, and one of the discussions is regarding the depth of what should be taught in church. There are people who claim that they want to go deeper spiritually and desire more teaching times, but the reality is that if we don't put into practice those things that we're learning, then who cares about systematic theology? The people who received the most criticism from Jesus were the people who went "deep" but didn't know how to live out what they had learned. If that's a person's idea of deep, then I don't know if I want any part of it. Teach me how to love my neighbor; that's deep!
Tim Stevens from Granger Community Church put together a compilation of thoughts by other pastors on this topic. It's definitely worth a read. You can visit it here.
