I love the story of the friends who are willing to interrupt Jesus' teaching time to drop their paralyzed companion through the roof of home so Jesus can heal him. Their friend had a problem: he was paralyzed. They had a solution: take him to Jesus. Unfortunately for them, the crowds got in their way and created no small problem. But because they loved their friend so much and because they believed that Jesus both could and would do something about the paralysis, they went to extreme lengths to get their friend to Him. The question that this raises for me is: do I believe that bringing my friends to Jesus is the solution to their problems? And maybe an even bigger question is: what lengths will I go to to bring them to Him? I think it's fair to say that many (if not most) of us stop when the room is crowded and there's no way in. If it was up to me, that guy would still be paralyzed. But these friends were committed to giving their friend what he needed regardless of how they might be viewed and regardless of the personal sacrifices required. Do you have a friend who needs Jesus? What might you do to introduce him or her to the One who can and will bring healing?
