Still In Control (Mark 15)

In the darkest moment of the cross – when Jesus hung in misery – God was still in control.  It’s a truth that’s so hard for us to understand sometimes.  We all have moments when God seems so distant that we wonder if He event exists.  This was one of those times.  The disciples had scattered for fear of what might happen to them as a result of their association with Jesus, and the world watched and laughed.  “Save yourself!” the crowds teased.  And yet it was precisely because Jesus was accomplishing His saving work for us that He didn’t do anything to remove the misery from himself.  But the world was not in chaos.  God hadn’t abandoned anyone – including His Son.  Take courage today in the knowledge that He was and He still is in control.
