It was pretty hard to disguise my enthusiasm this morning for our trip to Atlanta today for the Orange Conference. I've been looking forward to this conference ever I signed up back in February or March. I'm also excited to be sharing this conference experience with three other people: Mary Veal, Shannon Sendak, and Jeannette Miller. What is the Orange Conference? The color orange is derived by labeling children/students as yellow, parents as red, and combining the two together to make orange. For the next couple of days the four of us (along with thousands of others) will be learning how to better accomplish ministry to children and students at our church. So if you're up for it, check back every day for the latest updates. I will do my best to post on our various experiences, and hopefully I can get a few photos up here, too.
My parents drove down from Anderson, SC to have dinner with me, which was a lot of fun. They brought their Golden Doodle, Woodie, along for the ride… I'm glad he was able to make it too.
Highlights of the trip already:
- Seeing my parents
- Getting attacked by Woodie when he saw me (yes that is a picture of him)
- 1 meal and counting as Zaxby's (only the best fast food chicken restaurant on the planet)
- Getting a 30 minute run on the treadmill at the Hampton Inn where we're staying
