Tossed by the Wind (2 Kings 12-13; 2 Chronicles 24)

Greenish-abyss
There's really no better description for Israel and Judah than to say that they were tossed about by the wind.  The direction of their leader determined the direction of their nation, and unfortunately, their leaders took them back and forth.  One would be committed to the Lord, and then another would abandon the ways of the Lord.  The only consistent aspect of Israel's relationship with God is that it was inconsistent.  And yet God was patient with His people.  He welcomed them back when they returned to Him.  But their constant apostasy (falling away from Him) was mounting up to exile – not just as a form of punishment but as a means of getting their attention.  God will do what He needs to do to get our attention.  Are you allowing yourself to be tossed to and fro by the waves of pop culture or your own personal whims?  If so, you're opening yourself up to the Lord doing something to get your attention.  Be prepared, and be willing to listen.
