What if I can ‘ t keep up?

August 6, 2007 By Seth 2 Comments

I have had several people mention to me that they're not sure whether or not they'll be able to keep up with the year-long readings.  I have a few thoughts on that issue:

First, it's okay if you get behind.  When I read through the Bible last year, I was behind during the busy summer and was able to catch back up later.

Secondly, I believe that God is willing to use whatever we're willing to give.  As I mentioned on Sunday morning, 1 Timothy 2 says that God desires a relationship with all of us.  If we earnestly seek Him, He will reward whatever time we offer: some days that might mean 30 minutes, and some days that might mean 5.

The important thing is that we are offering time to God on a regular basis.  So if you're one of those who is concerned about not being able to keep up, be encouraged!  Do the best you can, and God will honor whatever you are able to give!

Thanks for your encouragement. It is refreshing to think that God uses the meager offerings we give. I want to join you on this journey. I don’t know how well I’ll do, but you’re right… God will work through it even if it’s not perfectly on track. Thanks Seth. 😀

I also appreciate the encouragement to keep at a good work even when falling behind an arbitrary schedule. I will join in the journey through the Bible!
