Being Sheepish (Isaiah 49-53)

One of the things I love about the Bible is how accurately it represents the issues in life that we deal with on a regular basis.  For instance, Isaiah said a long time ago that we are all like sheep and that we have a propensity to go our own ways and to avoid what God desires from us.  Have you ever seen a child who does something he or she knows is wrong?  All of a sudden, the demeanor changes, and you can see that something is up.  Where did that innate sense of guilt come from?  The Bible says that we all feel it because we all fail to live up to what God wants.  But Isaiah also foretold Christ's coming when he said that the iniquities (or sins) of the world would be laid on the one who was to come.  And then Christ came, lived a sinless life, and was crucified for sins that He didn't commit so that we might be forgiven.  What an amazing prophecy that came true!  It's okay being sheepish because we have a Savior who brings forgiveness for our sins.
