When I was in college a friend asked me what I wanted written on my tombstone. I decided that no greater honor could bestow me than "A man after God's heart." The challenge now is that I have to live in such a way that people will think that's an appropriate inscription. In the case of Josiah, he is well deserving of being remembered in that manner. He is one of my favorite kings of Israel because of his youth and because of his tenacious spirit in removing everything from Judah that was an abomination to the Lord. His heart was broken when he realized the how far his nation had moved away from the Lord's will, and he used his power solely for the glory of the Lord. He was a man after God's heart. How do you want to be remembered? I heard Andy Stanley once say that each segment of our lives will be reduced to a one-line memory. The truth is, even our entire lives will be reduced to one line. What will that one line be for you?
