He Will Surely Come (Isaiah 35-36)

January 8, 2014 By Seth Leave a Comment

Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.” (Isaiah 35:3-4)

Are you weary and tired?  Does it seem like you can’t go on any longer?  Are you discouraged or afraid?  The words of Isaiah are an encouragement: your God will come.  He hasn’t forgotten you, He’s aware of your circumstances, and He’s waiting for the right time to save you.

To those who have placed their faith in Jesus’ work on the cross, these words of Isaiah still ring true.  Whenever you’re discouraged and down, remember that God is aware of your situation and that He will come through.  His promise is to care for the needs of His people in due time.

If you know someone who is in need of encouragement, remind him or her of this promise.  No matter how bleak things in life may seem, God has not abandoned His people; He will surely come and save them.

Lord, regardless of the circumstances that I’m facing, please help me to remember that You know of my situation and that You care about it.  You haven’t forgotten about me, and You will surely come to save me.  Let me be encouraged today by the words of Isaiah as I rest in that promise.
