I love the words to that old song:
I have decided to follow Jesus,
I have decided to follow Jesus,
I have decided to follow Jesus.
No turning back, no turning back.
In another verse, the song goes on to say, "Though none go with me, I still will follow." I think that's the sentiment Jude was getting at in his letter: that we need to keep pressing on in following Christ – no matter what opposition might come our direction. In our culture we face all kinds of new age beliefs and philosophies that push people away from following Christ, and we cannot give in to their felonious teaching. It ultimately doesn't matter what the popular belief is because people the popular belief isn't always right. It is possible, after all, to be very sincere in one's belief and to be sincerely wrong. People will (and have) come to challenge Christianity, but my experience has taught me that Christianity always stands the test. I have decided to follow Jesus, and if none goes with me, I still will follow. What about you?
