The Difference of 24 Hours (Job 29-31)

Night and Day Tree
I remember the morning I heard about the terrorists crashing planes in the World Trade Center.  A lot changed in a mere 24 hours.  We went from being a nation at peace to a nation at war.  The deaths of loved ones, loss of jobs, the birth of a child – so much changes in so little time.  The same was true with Job.  He had so much.  He was the one people came to for advice; he was the one people looked up to as having life figured out with his wealth, his success, and his family.  But in such a short period of time, he lost it all.

What happens in 24 hours matters quite a bit.  That's why we can't place our hope in our work, in our family, or in our wealth.  After all, these things and more can be lost in a heartbeat.  What matters is placing our hope in Christ.  Where do you place your hope?
