The Eyes of the Lord (1 Kings 15:1-24; 2 Chronicles 13-16)

If you’ve seen The Lord of the Rings, then you have an idea about the Eye of Sauron and the Eye of Mordor and how these eyes were constantly watching and seeing what was going on.  In a similar way (albeit non-creepy), 2 Chronicles 16:9 describes the eyes of the Lord and how they are watching to give support to those people whose hearts are blameless toward the Him.  If you’ve ever thought you were alone or that God didn’t see your situation, you thought wrong.  If you ever did what was right in the eyes of the Lord and felt that He wasn’t coming to your defense, you thought wrong.  God is aware, and He care.  And in His time and in His way, He is a strong support for those whose hearts are turned toward Him.
