The one who never sleeps (Psalms 18 and 121)

June 29, 2008 By Seth Leave a Comment

I read some trivia this evening that said a person will die from lack of sleep before he will die from lack of food.  I like both sleep and food, so I can't imagine starving myself of either one!  It strikes me as especially interesting, then that the Psalmist tells us that God neither slumbers nor sleeps – He's always there, always on the job… He doesn't need sleep, He doesn't need to take a lunch break.  Isn't it nice to know that He's available 24/7 and that we never have to worry about whether or not he's actually there?  Even more than that, we have the promise of God watching over us in everything that we do.  Nothing surprises Him or takes Him off guard; He's just there for us, ready to be the source of our help.
