Unstoppable (Job 40-42)

August 18, 2013 By Seth Leave a Comment

“I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.” (Job 42:2)

God is an unstoppable, and there is nothing that you or I can do to get in His way or to keep Him from accomplishing His purposes here on earth.  The encouraging thing is that that there is nothing the Enemy can do to thwart God’s plans, either.

The account of Job began with Satan speaking with God about Job.  God gave Satan permission to test Job, but it was only within the confines of what God allowed.  Satan did not have free reign because God is sovereign, and whatever He desires will be reality.  On this earth, Satan has been given temporary dominion, but when Jesus returns He will reclaim it as His own.  That day is coming, which means we can have courage to face whatever circumstances we find ourselves in.

That’s good to know, isn’t it?  I like knowing that God holds everything in His hands because that means nothing is random or by accident.

God’s purposes will prevail in the end.

Father, regardless of the circumstances I find myself in, please help me to remember that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted by me or by anyone else.  Thank you for being a loving God who looks out for my well-being.  Help me to cling to you in times of uncertainty and to remember that You are in control.
