Whatever it takes (Isaiah 28-30)

January 6, 2008 By Seth Leave a Comment

The Lord tried, on many occasions, to get the attention of Israel.  His attempts were not successful, so Isaiah tells us that the Lord would speak to His people by those of "strange lips" and a "foreign tongue."  Essentially, He sent them to captivity to another land so they could learn the lesson He had to teach them.  God goes to great lengths to get the attention of His people, and sometimes He will do whatever it takes to get their attention.  I hope in my own life God doesn't need to place me in captivity somewhere so I will listen to Him.  The sad thing about reading this history of Israel is that we know the Israelites could have had life a lot better, but they chose to do things how they wanted – the result being less than what they had hoped.  There was and is an easier road, and my desire is to take that one.
