Whose Side? (Joshua 5-6)

Before entering Jericho, Joshua happens to run into the Command of the Lord's Army and asks him a question.  Whether or not Joshua recognized who he was is uncertain, but that didn't keep Joshua from asking if the man was for Israel or for Jericho.  The answer was kind of funny: neither.  As the Commander of the Lord's Army, he was fighting for the Lord, and not for anyone else.  The real question was whose team Joshua was on.  And that's really the real question for each of us: Whose team are we on?   So often we want to do what we want to do, and we want God to bless us in whatever we're doing.  But this was a reminder to Joshua that God fights for His own glory and not for the glory of anyone else.  Whose side are you on?
