Today was the last of the medical clinics. Last Saturday we were joined by Dr. Chuck Taylor, several of his family members, and others from the United States to
offer free medical clinics in the area. For three days we set up shop in various locations and helped diagnose medical issues and give free prescriptions along with vitamins,
Tylenol, and other meds. All in all we saw close to 500 people and were able to show some love and care to them.
The students from LifePoint helped out by taking vitals and playing with the children. I helped by taking pictures of families, printing them, and giving them as gifts. People here often don’t have photographs even if they have digital cameras (which most don’t have), so it was a blessing to the families to receive a photograph. It’s amazing how something we take for granted in the States is a cherished treasure here in Brazil! We had a great but very exhausting week.
